Why Buy Pre-Owned?
There's nothing like a shiny new guitar. But new doesn't always mean better. New guitars have done quite a bit of traveling before they make it to your hands and that traveling sometimes cause problems.
Guitars are made of wood and that wood expands and contracts on the trip overseas. Also, new guitars are normally not "set-up" properly, meaning the strings often set high above the fretboard. This leads to tuning issues and more importantly for the new player, the frustration that comes from a guitar that hurts their fingers and doesn't sound right.
Pre-owned guitars are often "broken in", have proper set-ups and usually play better than a new guitar. In fact, it is not unusual for a used guitar that costs hundreds less than a new one to play even better!
Besides, used guitars come with something a new guitar just can't replicate..... MOJO !
